L1 News. July 12, 2024. André Rieu now also has his own stamp. Yesterday PostNL issued the stamp sheetlet “The Magic of André Rieu”. This is on the occasion of the violinist and orchestra leader's 75th birthday, which will be celebrated on October 1. The five personal stamps show portraits of André Rieu in various ages, with his violin. On the sheet edge he is depicted as a conductor of his orchestra. The stamps have the value indication 1 and this means that they are suitable for mail up to 20 grams with a destination within the Netherlands. The stamps will be available from July 11, 2024 via the PostNL webshop and from Collect Club customer service (088 – 868 99 00). From Abroad: +31 88 - 8689900.

July 13, 2024 In Memoriam Bill Jamieson (80), New Zealand After enjoying the first series of Vrijthof concerts and the fan dinner, Bill and Heather were at the hotel ready to travel back to New Zealand. Bill became unwell, in coma, and was rushed to the Maastricht hospital, examined and treated. Today he passed away in the presence of his wife, son and daughter-in-law.
