André Rieu and the Johann Strauss Orchestra will perform for the first time in Sofia, the Bulgarian capital,
on June 16 and 17, 2018, in the Arena Armeec.
In April 2018 Bulgarian reporter Georgi Toshev and operator Rumen Vassilev traveled to Maastricht to
interview André Rieu for the Bulgarian Television. The documentary titled: “Everything is music” was
broadcast in Bulgaria in April 2018. Although we cannot provide subtitles, we still decided to post this
documentary, because of nice images of Maastricht and we can guess what they were talking about.
Lorelei Hunt states that The King of the Waltz tells Georgi Toshev how many hours he sleeps, what his
menu is and how much time he spends with his grandchildren. They talk about the business model of
André’s company “André Rieu Productions”, why money is not the most important item for him, eventhough
he is on the top ten list of best-selling musicians by Forbes Magazine.
The world-famous Dutch violinist who sold out the Armeec Arena in Sofia, shows his entire castle in
Maastricht, where he lives with his family. Historical chronicles claim that d'Artagnan, the hero from Dumas’
book “The Three Musketeers”, once stayed at Rieu’s castle.
Pierre, also stands in front of the camera and tells about special moments with his father.
