Efteling, located in Kaatsheuvel (province of North-Brabant),
is Holland’s best amusementpark
From Wikipedia: Efteling officially opened on May 31, 1952, when the Fairy Tale Forest (het
Sprookjesbos), designed by the famous Dutch illustrator Anton Pieck, was opened to the public. Initially,
the Fairy Tale Forest was home to some 10 different fairy tales, all of them brought to life using original
drawings by Pieck alongside mechanics, lighting and sound effects designed by the Dutch filmmaker
Peter Reijnders. The life-sized dioramas, displayed together in an atmospheric forest, were a tremendous
success. Over the years the park has expanded enormously.
Frank Steijns on Facebook:
André always thinks big, also of course on his
75th birthday.
So, we go with 500 people: the entire orchestra,
crew, office, all employees, with partners,
children and grandchildren, for a whole weekend
together to the Efteling!!
The lyrics of this famous Dutch song (24 Red
Roses, composed by the late Toon Hermans)
were adapted for this occasion to André's
birthday.
André’s most special DVD “André Rieu in
Wonderland” was recorded here in 2007 and
