Maastricht Vrijthof Webcam Located on the balcony room at hotel DuCasque.
Can you see the camera?? “’t Piepenhoes” is a very nice restaurant with an outside café terrace along the river Meuse. They are well-known for their delicious gooseberry merengue ”vlaai” (pastry). Ruud and Ineke relaxing in 2024, enjoying coffee and (our favorite) vlaai at the Piepenhoes terrace.
Since January 2022 there is a second webcam online, overlooking the Vrijthof Square from the side. Powered by info@heelhollandkijkt.nl . Click on the picture below. From here you can switch between the Vrijthof side webcam and the Maasboulevard webcam, (and St. Servaas Bridge). Gorgeous images!

During a visit to Maastricht we looked for the webcam that should be attached to a facade along the side of the Vrijthof square. We found it attached to the roof window of the building on Vrijthof 10 (Mediterranian restaurant Luster (opened in 2021).
This Vrijthof webcam is powered by NetcamViewer. E-mail: Support@NetcamViewer.nl
A third Maastricht webcam shows images of the Maasboulevard and the St. Servaas bridge. Also powered by info@heelhollandkijkt.nl Click on the picture. Then you can switch between images of the Vrijthof and the Meuse boulevard, The St Servaas bridge, locally called the ‘aw brögk’ or translated: “Old Bridge’. The camera is attached to the façade of café-restaurant “The Piepenhoes”.

UPDATE 2024 Around April 2024, fans noticed that the Vrijthof city webcam, which is attached to the facade of the hotel Ducasque, was no longer working. They reported this to Netcamviewer who replied that it was the decision of the hotel. When asked, we received the following answer from the hotel manager: "Unfortunately we are not able to send out live streams of the Vrijthof anymore, due to the privacy law". When we were at the hotel in July, the manager stated that this was the result of a complaint by one person (not a guest in the balcony room), who objected to the zoom function which makes people recognizable. The complaint was brought to court and the judge ruled this was a violation of the privacy law. So the webcam had to be disabled. In August 2024 we received via our website-guestbook, a message by an English fan: “Hi everybody, is there any reason why both webcam views of the square and bridge are no longer available? They were an extra window to the outside world to me”. We don't have any recent information about it but it could be the same story: the privacy law? We are very sorry and we don't understand it either. There are webcams in every city. And Maastricht is very special for the rest of the world with everything happening on the Vrijthof. We wonder: Couldn't a good solution be found for that? For example by just disabling the zoom functions.....? We’ll try to find out. In the meantime: we got a quick response by Hans van Es: The “Heelhollandkijkt” webcam was temporarily offline, is working fine!! Thanks Hans!!
It is no use to report anymore, read the UPDATE below.
Attention: Read the 2024 update about the Maastricht city webcams on top of this page. Update August 24, 2024: The Heel Holland kijkt webcam is working fine. Was a while offline due to a technical failure. Thanks for your reply, Hans van Es!
